How often in your life have you settled or given up your power because you chose to let others be in charge rather than tap into the leader within you? If you find yourself feeling like you’re at the mercy of other people’s whims and decisions or want to blame someone else for the results you are (or are not) experiencing then it is likely that you are not taking responsibility for being a leader in your own life (and yes that means your career/business as well).

Are you thinking…

* But I don’t hold any leadership positions
* It’s someone else’s responsibility to
* I don’t have any control over that

If you are, then you are buying into the biggest myth about being a leader. That myth we’ve been sold by the educational system we went through, the organizations we’ve been a part of, and society at large. The myth that it is only people in leadership positions that hold any power.

The myth that you do not have the response-ability to affect change in your own life. The myth that it is more acceptable to kvetch at the water cooler with everyone else than to do something about it and be the change you most want to see.

“And the first thing to know is that a “leader” is not a job description. It is a state of consciousness.” - Yehuda Berg

Here’s an example most people can relate to… so read along and then tell me which person is tapping into their leadership power.

Two people go on a job interview, are equally qualified, and perform well during the interviews. At the close of that interview here’s what transpires after the interviewer says “Thanks for interviewing, we’ll let you know what we decide about the position.”:

Person A says…
“Thank you for your time. I appreciate the opportunity and hope to hear from you.”

Person B says…
“Thank you so much. What are your next steps in the decision making process? What is your time frame for making a decision? I am currently evaluating several other exciting opportunities so I will give you a call next week to check-in as I would really like to make an informed decision and have the opportunity to contribute to your organization’s mission.”

Which person is being more of leader in their own career?

Person A who gives a passive, unlikely to make any waves answer and waits at the mercy of someone else to decide their future?

OR

Person B who proactively gathers more information and creates the next step in the process so that the highest good of all involved can be served?

Which person do you think is most likely to complain to friends over a beer if he or she doesn’t get the job?

Which person do you think is most likely to adopt an inside/out approach and “plan - act - adjust” as they continue on their career path?

Because leadership is a state of consciousness and a way of being, you can and must be a leader in your own life if you wish to create experiences and accomplishments on your own terms. Otherwise you’re left to the whims of others… you tend to abdicate responsibility for choosing in all areas of your life… what you eat for dinner, which movie you go to see with friends, whether or not you go home on time from the office… all the way up to what hobbies you do/don’t pursue and what path you choose professionally. Then you use “I can’t” as an excuse as to why you don’t or won’t have what you most desire.

If you let others decide for you, I can almost guarantee that you will be miserable, feel wildly inauthentic, and settle for the table scraps of life.

We’ve all seen the bumper stickers “Question Authority”. I’d invite you to question authority, question what you believe to be true, and question what you think you can/cannot do. Not in an “up yours” sort of way (which is the energy that bumper sticker sometimes gives off) but in a truly curious manner. In a way that makes you go… “Hmmm… maybe something different than what I am doing or experiencing is possible.”

Because… it is possible and it can only start to become your reality if you begin the change inside of you.

Today I have a special message specifically for the MLM Leaders and MLM Corporate owners or Network Marketers and Affiliate marketers. You are the people I am directing my message to today! There’s a big shift that’s taken place which affects you, the above leaders directly. It’s time to step up and be the Progressive Leader.

In general my messages are mostly directed to distributors however, I am aware that in my list I have many MLM Leaders and Corporate owners as well. When I say MLM Leaders and Corporate owners I’m referring to those of you who are adaptive or progressive leaders and owners.

There have been some huge changes in the MLM/Networking Marketing Industry which I keep up to date with on a consistent basis, keeping you up to date with the latest changes on the internet but most of all I’ve been keeping you updated with the latest marketing techniques.

What’s the game changer here and what puts you in the category of an adaptive/progressive leader? Well, it all has to do with the internet.

Let me explain. Way back when, it used to be that you could have full control of the information your distributors were receiving.

They would come to your coffee meetings, your hotel meetings and your home meetings and you had total control about all the information your distributors were receiving. As little as 10 years ago this was still happening… and it’s still happening in smaller circles today. However, this is not how it works anymore.

I really think most of you now realise the change that’s happened, however it’s how you respond to this change that qualifies you and makes you a progressive leader.

Let me explain further. The progressive leader works with the change where the old school leader is afraid of the change and clings to the old ways. The reality is that you just can’t run a profitable business using old school methods. It’s like you are possibly trying to gag your team because you are the only one they should be listening to, because your way works. And yes, it may have worked 10 years ago and was the MLM blueprint going back 50 years ago, but in today’s market these methods just aren’t working any more.

Why? Well let just run over a few things that happen today online. While your distributors are at your hotel meeting they could be popping your name into the search engines on their iphone or lap top to check you out. When they can’t find you they start to think you have no standing as a leader in your industry. You just can’t escape the fact that we have far more intelligent, savvy and smart business people in today’s market and you just can’t pull the wool over their eyes anymore. The progressive leaders today get that and this fact can still be an enormous challenge. Think about this….. one of those smart savvy business people on your team has access to the latest most up to date training on the internet to learn how to grow their business, and here is the scary part for some leaders, not the progressive leaders of course.

Your downline member, the smart savvy one I mentioned above, can go flying right past you and that is a real possibility in today’s market. Perhaps you’ve already seen this happen with your downline. Wondering how you can overcome this happening to you? The first fact is you need to accept that this is happening daily and you need to grow and evolve as a different leader. How would that make you look? The possibility of you becoming a more transparent, open and honest leader is THE place to start to be that resource leader, the person your team comes to because you have the above qualities. Another approach to this is you could do it as a team, even if you’re not sure what’s out there in the way of resources your team will have more respect for you if you join forces with them and approach these new resources together.

New leaders in MLM and Network marketing are comfortable having new leaders develop around them and they are certainly not intimidated by their people. They get excited, inspired by and motivated by their team development and this leaves the old school leader behind.

My message to you is, it’s time that you were willing to learn the new ways of the progressive leader and I’m here to support your efforts. As I said earlier I’m keeping up to date with these new growth aspects of the internet and I’m always gathering new content to help you move forward and grow your business to a new level. I personally want to empower you to become the leader in your MLM or Network Marketing business so you can step up and be that progressive leader that will actually attract the best people into your business. But, if you are still operating in the old school way, you will most definitely lose those people. These people are learning new skills and genuinely will go flying past you in the income stakes if you don’t start to take action now and be that progressive leader.

Before you go anywhere you should see exactly what Progressive Leaders and MLM Leaders are doing online today to make themselves stand out amoungst the crowd and leave their downline scratching their heads. The full Story here http://prepare2succeed.com

Rather than surrendering your policy for the cash value, an accelerated death benefits rider would allow you to access money from the death benefit in the event that you are diagnosed with a terminal condition. However, keep in mind that these funds would be subtracted from the payout beneficiaries receive when death occurs.

The life settlement option

A life settlement is when a life insurance contract is sold to an investor in exchange for a sum of money, which often exceeds what would have been paid to you if your life insurance contract was allowed to lapse or was surrendered for cash value.

A life settlement could be an option if you have determined that you no longer want your whole life insurance policy because you no longer have a life insurance need.

Confirm your life insurance needs

Jim Holtzman, an advisor and shareholder with Legend Financial, Pittsburgh, Penn., recommends that you contact your life insurance agent or financial advisor to do a needs analysis.

This is an assessment that can help you define your financial needs and goals, and to account for ongoing responsibilities such as education costs, mortgage obligation, or retirement needs. Since there may be tax consequences to modifying or terminating a whole life policy, consultation with a qualified tax advisor is also a good idea.

Holtzman adds that he is cautious when clients want to get rid of a life insurance policy. There are several options that should be considered first, including paying premiums from cash value or through policy dividends. For those who have a need for the funds, the cash value can be used to pay for a long-term care policy or a combination of long-term care and life insurance.

Every successful business leader knows full well that training in the key to their organization’s long term success because it empowers their followers to be more productive tomorrow than they were yesterday.

Two kinds of training exist, internal and external. If you had the staff and resources to offer in-house training for your people you’d do it.

But most businesses find this impossible for two reasons, the employees who can and would be the chosen internal trainers are too busy doing what they’re being paid to do, their jobs. Or you don’t have employees who can bring fresh insights and creative thinking to the table.

What if there was another way, one that helped your people be the best they can possibly be, one that you could begin implementing immediately, and one with no direct or variable costs associated with it? If that were the case then there would be no reason not to include every member of your organization in the process would there?

Many business owners and senior level managers, people who will never be considered true leaders, are under the mistaken impression that knowledge is for them to have and for them to pass down to the troops. In so many ways they have it upside down.

While they are thinking deep thoughts, strategizing, attending retreats and conferences the people on the shop floor can more directly impact the organization’s profitability far more quickly by knowing what their most successful peers are doing in their companies.

Competitive intelligence, information that can add profit to your bottom line is not universally available to everyone at the same time. Isn’t that why you attend trade association meeting, to pick up trends and techniques before it’s too late to take advantage of them?

If you are not already doing so, wouldn’t it be a smart move for your company if you took your key managers and supervisors to the next association event where they will have access to programs with their peers, learning about the best practices in their departments. Before, during and after these programs, they will have the opportunity to connect with their counterparts in companies like yours that are located elsewhere and are not your competitors.

Then, using the simple peer to peer mastermind collaboration process they could regularly connect with them after everyone returns home, meeting month in and month out to leverage the productive relationships that were created or expanded at the event.

Imagine the possible benefits for your company if you took just 3 managers with you and they each connected with their peers and began meeting regularly. There would be 18 people (your 3 plus 15 of their peers) with their ears to the ground across the country or around the world, creating competitive advantages for one and all in their individual battles with competition!

Let’s say your production supervisor and five others from companies in your industry get together regularly via a peer to peer mastermind collaboration group.

Their continual systematic injections of wisdom will add more money to the bottom line than almost any other activity your employees can be a part of!

Here is a simple way to leverage the leadership and management training in which you and your employees are currently participating. While they are participating in the programs already in place, leverage and extend the life of the learning process by encouraging your participating employees to team up with their peers from the sessions and continue as a peer group.

Your employees will bring new and valuable insights to their specific functions that will make them more effective and they will introduce new ideas from their contemporaries. Just consider the benefits.

Business owners who think strategically, plan comprehensively, and execute flawlessly will certainly outpace those who simply set goals and hope for the best. If you want to be even more successful in the future than you are today, a business to business mastermind group will show you how to leverage the power of your peers to stay focused on what’s important to you, you family, and your business.

Go to any playground, classroom or backyard where young children gather and you will find a teacher or a parent trying to instill the importance of sharing. From toys to snacks, to our time and resources, we learn from a very early age that sharing is a virtue. It’s a fundamental childhood lesson designed to make us better people and better members of society.

Go to many boardrooms, office buildings and cubicles in the corporate world and, for the most part, you will find sharing is a lost art. People aren’t bad, but traditional corporate culture and systems fail to encourage real teamwork. Most people are out for themselves, trying to outshine and outdo one another for promotions and recognition in cutthroat competition that encourages confrontation rather than collaboration. The good of the company is a byproduct of this behavior, not the goal. There are teams in the corporate world; many of them are successful. But too many managers and team leaders take the credit for their team’s hard work – using “I” more often than “we” when describing success. And as the old saying goes, “There is no ‘I’ in teamwork.”

I found this to be true in my own career. I first joined the working world in the real estate industry when I joined my father’s company. I was excited to work in a team environment and develop an exciting business in what I thought was a collaborative profession. Was I ever wrong. Each real estate broker was interested only in his or her own accomplishments; the success of the team wasn’t even a consideration.

I grew the family business and soon found myself in a leadership position in the company. I thought if I were in charge, things would be different. I dedicated myself to fostering a team environment, taking the time and energy to invest in the people I brought on board to help them and our business grow. I believed that if I developed a supportive, collaborative workplace, no one would ever want to leave. I worked on being what I considered a servant leader – giving completely of my time and my knowledge to my colleagues and the business, believing we all would benefit from this practice. Wrong again. Some of the top people I trained and brought along left the brokerage and became my direct competition. At one point, I realized I was responsible for helping build many brokerages in the Los Angeles area, all started by my former colleagues.

I couldn’t believe what was happening at the time. I thought I had done everything right. Upon thinking about it, I realized my strategy had a fatal flaw: While the environment I created encouraged teamwork with me, it didn’t encourage teamwork among everyone on the team. I took the time to coach and help people as a servant leader, but the systems we had in place didn’t reward others for working with one another while recognizing individual achievement. Teamwork is more than simply assembling a group of people together with a goal; true teamwork requires strong leadership, a common vision and a culture that reinforces and rewards collaboration. In my years in business, I’ve identified “Nine Cs” that every good servant leader must master to build a successful team:

Culture. Teamwork doesn’t just naturally happen. You need to create a company culture that encourages and rewards it at every level. You need to systematize teamwork — engrain it in every facet of your business. Recognize not only the top individual but also the top team in your office. Tie teamwork to bonuses and promotions, not just the bottom line. Without a supportive culture in place, teamwork will be a word rather than an action.

True teamwork

requires strong

leadership, vision

and a culture

that reinforces

and rewards

collaboration.

Cause. Successful teams are inspired teams. You don’t inspire teams with tasks; you inspire teams with dreams. Give them a reason bigger than themselves to go out there and give 110 percent. At World Financial Group Inc., our cause — our crusade — is to help middle-income families who have traditionally been underserved by the financial services industry to get on track to their futures by educating them about money. That’s a dream people can get behind. When my teammates go out and help a family, it’s not just business to them. Their actions have meaning and purpose, and they get a sense of satisfaction that they’ve helped make a difference in someone’s life. I take this so seriously that I play on my last name and tell everyone I am a “cruzader” for our mission. Servant leaders must convey the “why” to their teams. And that leads me to my next point.

Communication. A servant leader keeps in constant communication with his/her team. Share successes. Make them part of the business by being transparent, open and honest. Good and constant communication builds a foundation of trust. Trust fortifies the bonds necessary for teams to flourish and businesses to grow.

Collaboration. Find opportunities for people to work together and play to their strengths. Mix up the players on your team so people have a chance to work with everyone. Changing things around breeds fresh perspectives and new ideas.

Coach. Create an environment that encourages and rewards people for sharing and teaching others what they know. The traditional corporate world seems to discourage this. By tying promotions, recognition and rewards to individual accomplishments, employees tend to keep their skills and abilities to themselves rather than teaching others for the common good. When you build a business that rewards mentoring, experienced professionals will share their skills. We do this at World Financial Group Inc. As an associate with our company, you have access to multiple experienced professionals/coaches. No matter where you are in business, you have someone to mentor you. This practice builds a successful business and a strong, confident, growing team driven by a nurturing business environment.

Commitment. Servant leaders must lead by example and show other teammates at every turn they are committed to their individual success and the success of the business. They must give their time and talents to helping others, and in turn, this will help the business to grow. The commitment level you give, is the commitment level you get back from your team.

Compassion. Good servant leaders don’t just say they care about their teammates; they show it. Take the time to get to know each and every team member, their families, their goals and dreams. Understanding your teammates and getting to know who they truly are will help you be a better leader.

Create an

environment of

giving and everything

comes back to you

tenfold.

Challenge. Evaluate the company’s business goals regularly and work with team members to develop individual and collective milestones to get there. Good servant leaders keep the team members in tune with company goals and stretch the team’s vision so they can achieve what they never thought they could. Your ultimate goal is to challenge your team members and build other servant leaders.

Cheerleader. A servant leader is also the cheerleader, giving the team the dose of motivation they need to go out and do their jobs to the best of their abilities. Encourage your teammates with frequent calls. Reward their initiative and accomplishments in front of the entire team. As team leader, you are the director of motivation, a job you should take seriously. By affiliating myself with a company that understands and values teamwork, my team members and I have built a strong financial services and insurance business that has helped so many people. We eagerly share our knowledge with each other and focus on helping families in a collaborative, inviting environment that people find enjoyable and rewarding. People say walking into our World Financial Group Inc. office is like walking into a home where people really care about one another. That is the professional culture I always wanted to be a part of and why I love going to work every day. I truly believe that life is about the give, not the get. If you create an environment of giving, everything comes back to you tenfold.

Is It Really Important?

In matters as important as the safety of the worker, it is essential that leaders demonstrate the high priority by the decisions being made each day. Most organizations will say that safety is equal to or higher than production, but do the actions of the management team indicate this priority?

The senior leadership team is responsible for the health and well being of every worker and this is a serious responsibility. It is one that must not be taken lightly. This means that the senior managers must understand the requirements. Only then can a system be developed and implemented to insure the proper role of the leadership in the issue of safety.

Specific Actions

Recently, in a client’s facility I observed several unsafe practices with fork trucks and upon investigation it was found that a contractor had not properly trained their personnel.

Who was responsible? The management team of the facility where the unsafe act occurred was responsible as were the contractor’s management personnel. However, it took two meetings with the senior manager and pictures of the incidents to get the team into the work area to look at the issues for themselves.

One immediate action leaders can take to demonstrate the high priority of any issue is to “go.” Go to the place in the facility where the incident occurred and observe first-hand what has happened or is about to happen.

Known hazards or potential issues must be corrected immediately. Also, there should be a system in place to identify and correct potential hazards.

A Systematic Approach

A systematic approach is the responsibility of management.

Here is a simple and proven approach:
Document the requirements for each area of your business
Implement a system to identify potential hazards
Identify the procedural and training needs
Develop necessary procedures and instructions
Train employees
Clearly define expectations for each employee including supervisors
Follow-up to insure the transition from training to practice is effective
Monitor results and take appropriate corrective actions
Review the process for effectiveness
Conduct routine facility audits that take into account documentation, actual practice and records to support what is being done

Summary

Leaders must make the health and well being of every employee a demonstrated high priority matter. This cannot be taken lightly nor can it just be given “lip service.” It requires constant effort, attention to detail and decision making based on facts. In a nutshell, it requires involvement by every level of leadership in the organization.

Entrepreneurs are being compared to doctors in the sense that they also have responsibility to check the patient’s history before they will diagnose the patient’s illness or sickness and provide a series of medical tests. Like entrepreneurs, they would be pretty much the same as he should look after his customers as his patients.

In every situation, he should be able to determine what his customer’s need just like the doctors who knows pretty well on his patients. The entrepreneur must be careful to know exactly where his business is headed and also he should be sure he does not direct his customers in the wrong direction. If so both he and his customers could lose and be in financial peril.

The quality of an entrepreneur should be defined by his vision, and his action taking as well as pursuing his vision as one or many of the goals he has established for himself and his clients.

Another definition is getting your butt off that couch and getting out there and doing something. Some are not able to do it. Many become couch potatoes so to speak.

An entrepreneur must be buoyant person and must be able to foresee what will happen ahead of time. Some of these may hinder his progress.

An entrepreneur must be very artistic and able to foresee what will be the outcome of his thorough research that could help his business.

He must be a leader who possesses a life that is very stable but he must also be tough enough to handle physical, mental and social or emotional problems as they come up.

He must also be a risk taker and must have the guts and the balls to be able to jump into or plunge into a winning or losing situation. He must not be afraid of taking big chances when opportunity happens.

Another characteristic he should possess? He should be a very charismatic person, and have the intelligence to communicate with all walks of life he may come into contact with. He also should have a certain amount of magic when dealing with peers. He should be able to bring forth enchanting and convincing words that most powers cannot resist.

He must be energetic and willing to do whatever it might take in order to come out a winner. His eagerness should be at the top of his priorities and his exuberance must be very high all the times.

His greatest failure would be sticking with the mentality of being conventional. This would be one of an entrepreneur’s greatest downfalls. Think big, Act, Make your business dreams come true.

When you have prospects moving into your inbox every day, which isn’t difficult to do, you will have to pick-up the telephone and prospect these leads. A lot of us including me at one time dreaded being rejected and feared the telephone, however it was just a question of time until finally I recognized that if I was not on the telephone dollars were not coming in. There isn’t a mysterious method to talk to prospective customers, just pick-up the telephone and practice.

Your Market America Follow-up System-

The fortune in this particular market is produced through the follow-up approach. Several if not much of your potential customers won’t sign up for or purchase the very first time they experience your online business. It isn’t your negligence, it is the timing in individuals lives that establishes whenever they can and cannot purchase, so never ever take it personal. When you engage with curious prospective customers for a lengthy period of time, you’ll be surprised about the number of individuals enroll in your organization following several weeks, even a few months of continually following up. You can utilize e-mail follow-up programs, post cards and also greeting cards so it can have a personal feel.

Market America is really a well-established multi-level marketing business that will build you right into a really serious networker when you seek out a booming way of life. By using my 3-basic principles, I will personally ensure you that to become leading producer in Market America is simply a couple of months away if you ever put the work in. Absolutely nothing will come easy within this marketplace, but as soon as I discovered these 3-moving components my career transformed, I moved from being in financial debt to living a lifestyle without having limitations.

With the way the current economy is, many people are suffering though an economic crisis. Although it may not be possible for you to get rich, there are ways that you can arrange your personal finances so that you can live comfortably. The following article is going to provide you with this crucial information.

Choose a broker whose ethics and experience you can trust. You should, of course, investigate reviews of a broker thoroughly enough to determine whether he or she is trustworthy. Moreover, your broker needs to be capable of understanding your goals and you should be able to communicate with him or her, as needed.

In an effort to improve your finances, compare Savings account and CD rates online. In the current low-interest rate environment, it’s more important that ever to find the best possible yields on deposit accounts. Chances are that by searching online, you can find a better interest rate than your local bank is offering, making the most of your emergency fund or other savings.

If you are self-employed, don’t forget to deduct your insurance premiums on your taxes. The premium amount you deduct will reduce your adjusted gross income and you can use it even if you do not itemize your deductions. This can save you quite a bit come tax time, so don’t forget about it.

Find your own financing when buying a car. You will have more negotiating power than if you are relying on the dealer and their banks to get you financed. They will try to talk to you into monthly payments rather than the actual cost of the car. If you already have your loan in place, you can concentrate on the cost of the car itself, because you already know what your payment would be.

Teach children early about saving money. When giving them an allowance, encourage them to set aside a portion of it. Help them to determine not only long-term goals for their savings, such as college, but also some short-term goals, such as a new bicycle, or even ice cream. As they reap the benefits of saving for their short-term goals, they will begin to understand the importance of it and it will motivate them toward their long term goals.

Check and see if you are getting the best cell phone plan for your needs. If you’ve been on the same plan for the past few years, you probably could be saving some money. Most companies will do a free review of your plan and let you know if something else would work better for you, based on your usage patterns.

Triple check your credit card statements the moment you arrive home. Make sure to pay special attention in looking for duplicates of any charges, extra charges you don’t recognize, or simple overcharges. If you spot any unusual charges, contact both your credit card company and the business that charged you immediately.

Recycle your old VHS tapes and even plastic bags into yarn! They call it “plarn” and avid craftspeople all over are recycling anything that they can twist around a crochet hook or weave through a loom to make useful water proof items out of one-hundred percent recycled products! What can beat free craft material?

If you have consistently made your credit card payments on time for at least one whole year, you may have some leverage to negotiate more favorable terms, like a lowered interest rate or even a higher credit limit. Of course, only go for the second option if you have a real need to do so and can responsibly pay the added amount every month.

Make sure you automate your payments instead of handling them manually if you really want to ensure you always know what’s going on. It’s more convenient to handle things with computers these days, and records are automatically saved and very easy for you to access and print out for safe keeping.

In conclusion, even though you may not be rich, there are still ways that you can arrange your personal finances so that you do not have to struggle. Sometimes, all a person needs is the will to live in a way that they do not have to worry about finances.
